Keep your tools organized and ready to go for any task with these clever tool storage ideas. You don't have to invest a lot of money or time to create tool storage solutions that work.

Tool Storage Ideas Worth Trying

Looking for clever ways to store hand tools, garden accessories and more? Check out these ideas to keep your tools organized and ready to go for any project.

Put Up a Pegboard

Pegboards are invaluable when it comes to storage of any kind. They're especially versatile when it comes to tool storage. For maximum utility, consider investing in a pegboard hook set to accommodate a range of tools, paint brushes, extension cords and more.

Repurpose a Pallet

You can use repurposed pallets to create furniture, garden beds, tool storage and more. Simply fasten some nails and hooks to a pallet and keep all your hand tools, like wrenches, screwdrivers and pliers, organized and in one place.

Take Advantage of Vertical Space

If you're not using wall space in your garage or tool shed, you're missing out. Add a multipurpose storage rail to your wall and maximize your space. This will keep tools up and out of the way while still giving you access to garage floorspace to park vehicles, work on projects and more.

Reuse Glass Jars

Keep old jam jars, pickle jars and other food containers around to store small items like nails, screws, bolts and other fasteners. Drill the lids to a piece of plywood held up with brackets and label each jar so you can quickly find what you need, when you need it.

Utilize Every Corner

If you're working with a small space, don't forget to use corners. A simple tool holder like this, designed to fit into a garage or shed corner, is a simple yet effective storage solution.

Line Drawers

If you're working with a space that has drawers, consider adding drawer liner to keep tools from sliding around. Designed with an anti-slip surface, your tools will stay put when opening and closing drawers or when moving a portable toolbox around.
